Come Worship with us!
Welcome to our Parish Website!
This is the official website of the Parish of the Holy Cross and St. Helen in the Diocese of Salford!
We are delighted to have you visit our website and explore the vibrant community that is Holy Cross and St. Helen Parish. Our parish is home to two beautiful churches, St. Ann's and St. Christopher's, where we gather to worship, grow in faith, and serve one another.
At Holy Cross and St. Helen Parish, we are committed to fostering a deep and meaningful relationship with God and with one another. Our parish community is diverse and welcoming, embracing people of all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life. Whether you are a long-time member of our parish or a newcomer searching for spiritual nourishment, you will find a place here where you belong.
Our churches, St. Ann's and St. Christopher's, are both sacred spaces where we come together to encounter God in the sacraments, especially in the Holy Eucharist. We invite you to join us for Mass, where the Word of God is proclaimed and the Body and Blood of Christ are shared. Our liturgical celebrations are filled with reverence, joy, and community spirit.
In addition to our regular Masses, we offer a wide range of spiritual and social activities for individuals and families. We have faith formation programs for children, youth, and adults, where you can deepen your knowledge of Catholic teachings and grow in your relationship with God. Our parish also has various ministries and groups that provide opportunities for service, fellowship, and outreach to those in need.
We encourage you to explore our website to learn more about the different ministries, events, and resources available in our parish. You will find information about our Mass schedules, sacramental preparation, upcoming events, and much more. We also invite you to connect with us through our social media channels to stay updated on the latest parish news and announcements.
Whether you are seeking answers to spiritual questions, longing for a community that will support you on your faith journey, or simply curious about the Catholic faith, we are here to accompany you. We believe that every person is a beloved child of God, and we strive to create an environment where all can experience God's love, mercy, and healing grace.
Thank you for visiting our website. We look forward to welcoming you personally at any of our churches. May God bless you abundantly and guide you on your spiritual path.
Yours in Christ,
Parish Priest, Parish of the Holy Cross and St. Helen

IMPORTANT NOTICES *
This week Saturday (9th May) there will be only a 10am Mass at St Ann’s with no masses at St. Christopher’s.
The lift at St Christopher’s is still sadly not in operation, with works ongoing. Whilst we cannot give a specific date for the completion of the works, we are hoping within the next few weeks to have a working lift again for parishioners to be able to access the church again.
The Parish Office has currently been reviewing all Gift Aid records to ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and to ensure that all declarations remain accurate and valid. A letter has been sent earlier this week to all Parishioners with a Gift Aid declaration on file. Parishioners who wish the Parish to continue claiming Gift Aid on their donations are asked to complete and return the confirmation form attached to the letter to the Parish Office by 31 May 2026. Where there is no response, this will result in the cancellation of the current declaration. If you have not received a letter but do claim Gift Aid, please get in touch with Karol or Ann-Marie to discuss. Additional letters are available at both churches from the Fathers or at the Parish Office. For any questions please contact Karol at the Office, and we continue to thank all Parishioners for their generous donations and ongoing support of the Parish. Please note that whilst on the letter there is a misprint in one part regarding the date, the forms must be returned by the 31 May 2026. The forms also should be returned regardless of how Parishioners donate, whether through boxes, standing orders, or online donations.
